The Devil's Survival Guide

The next night, at exactly 3:33 A.M., the demon burst from the ceiling, covered in small fires.  I asked him where he had been, and he cited traffic in the underworld as his cause for tardiness.  At any rate, I challenged him to present his first point.  He pulled out a crisp Excel graph detailing the comparative wealth of those who eventually lost their souls, and those who went to an eternal reward in Heaven.  I examined the graph, then started to laugh at the little corrupter of soul.
“Wait a minute, wait a minute,” I laughed, “does being evil bring great wealth, or does great wealth make you evil?  Because it looks here like the second option is what’s happening.  Why would I want money if it automatically sides me with you?”  The demon stared at me for a few seconds in frustration, then tore his chart in half and disappeared.  I laughed myself to sleep that night.
