THE FUTURE OF SEX

We live in a landscape of strange potential. Where attitudes and psychological states can be adopted and discarded, where mental disorders have become fashion accessories, where homosexuality and ‘gay’ have become separated to such an extent that to be homosexual and not subscribe to the ‘gay’ myth is a form of heresy.

The human body is not equipped to deal with the unfettered sexual imagination. To attempt to square this particular circle strategies like role playing, surgery and fetishism have been adopted, but inevitably result in dissatisfaction, and a driving need to go further.

This is the same impasse that many serial killers discover-the human body gives up before the sexual imagination even gets warmed up. A ravenous sexual appetite that leads to emotional death, human contact reduced to body parts. Of course serial murderers often end up insane or suicidal-the gulf inside that is a prerequisite to some of the things they do to others swallows them up. The only answer would seem to be to release sex from the constraints of the human body.

Sex must become totally psychological in its function and functioning. Once freed from the limitations of genital physicality the world becomes ripe with explicit pornographic potential-‘the rhythm of life’ revealed. The most abstract forces are capable of a sexual interpretation, from mathematics to disease.

(A word here on disease-a vast area that requires eroticization, but has so far proved of little interest to the all but the most avant-garde sexual explorer. Admittedly the processes and procedures of medicine have been sexualized, but in general disease itself seems to have been overlooked.)

When one considers the potential of computer generated effects and prosthetics it seems somewhat astounding that these technologies have not been utilized to produce pornography that slides as seamless as knitting bone into the surreal to create startling imagery that could prove therapeutic-and may at last blow those two hideous pieces of psycho-sexual propaganda out of the water; GAY and STRAIGHT.
