Scary Tale I

It was a dark and stormy night. Underneath the pouring rain and loud cracks of lightening, there stood a dark castle on a hill that loomed over the quiet townsfolk of Oradea. On this particularly nasty night a young gypsie by the name of Yoric was limping up the long staircase towards the castles gate. He was bleeding heavily from a wound he had just sustained on the rivers border by a gruesome unknown creature that had taken his toes in the long reeds. The castle was the closest place he would be able to find before he collapsed from blood loss, so he pressed on past the gnarled and twisted gargoyles that stared down at him with an evil hunger in their eyes, as though they could smell his spilt blood. Before he could rap on the doors a icy wind blew them inward sucking Yoric through with a deep howl. "Hello?" he cried out into the empty darkness of the foyer, but no-one answered. Suddenly a bolt of lightening streaked down through two arched windows above revealing the outlines of a huge staircase rising up before him follwed by a clap of thunder that almost made his heaving chest burst. Riveting his eyes on the staircase, they began to adjust to the darkness and he could make out a fiqure in the shadows at the top of the stairs. The figure began to slowly decend silently down the stairs towards Yoric when he realised what it was. It was a duck! He gasped and stumbled backwards, eyes wide with fear as the duck creapt closer with malicious intent, boring it's vacant eyes into his. Yoric began screaming as his wound took it's toll and he collapsed onto the floor, desparately trying to push himself backwards away from the oncoming poultry that had now reached the bottom of the stairs. He felt his back reach the cold stone of the wall and knew he was trapped, staring at the duck, his eyes pleading. And then... the duck farted.
